Afro-Diasporic Rhythm Djembé and Bomba Design T-shirt | Africa to Puerto Rico
This is the official Ubuntu Fest T-shirt — a wearable act of remembrance, resistance, and relationship.
Every shirt sold directly supports three communities: youth cultural programs in Loíza, youth in Canóvanas, and hurricane-impacted families in Moore Town, Jamaica. This isn’t merch for aesthetics. It’s COMMUNITY RESTORATION.
The front design places a West African djembe beside a Puerto Rican bomba barril — two drums in conversation, signaling shared ancestry, call-and-response, and the rhythms that survived displacement.
On the back, the African continent reaches toward Puerto Rico, visualizing the truth behind Ubuntu: I am because we are. Our identities are not isolated. They are braided.
The heavyweight cotton has presence, but the garment-dye process gives it a soft, broken-in feel that moves easily with jeans, skirts, or a wrapped skirt in motion. Colors are warm and lived-in, deepening with every wash. The cotton holds prints cleanly while moving with your body — never against it. Durable, grounded, meant to be worn into the next rhythm. This isn’t just apparel; it’s wearable testimony to cultural survival and connection.
